While Germán works on his finca or drinks a coffee on the outside balcony with his family, he sees a majestic mountain towering in the distance. Many myths entwine around the “Cerro Shipago”. There are still dozens of unexplored caves here. Often the summit is packed in dense clouds that block the view. In the evening, they climb down from the top and also envelop Germán’s finca in a dampness where you are not sure if it is rain or fog. Locals tell of a spirit of the mountain that determines the weather and fate in agriculture. But it seems like the mountain spirit is getting more restless every year, the weather more extreme and unpredictable. In view of climate change, Germán dedicates his biggest lot to this mystical mountain.
