In the tropical heat of Panama, a quick, refreshing plunge into the water is called a Chapuzón. A fitting name for this washed BRS2314 Robusta.
After a brief fermentation, the coffee is depulped and the mucilage carefully washed away before the parchment is slowly dried in an airy drying house. The result: a clean, refreshing, and energizing cup – like a revitalizing dive into cool water on a hot Panamanian day.
The pioneers of Kiva Estate have set out to realize their vision of exceptional Canephora coffee in Penonomé. On this journey, they must master not only the coffee’s flavor profile but also its careful selection — an area that still presents structural challenges. We, however, see these coffees as rough diamonds and are eager to accompany our partners at Kiva along the way.
