Born under a coffee tree on Christmas Eve in 1959, Ormindo Nandorf has spent his life in the hills of Santa Teresa. Together with his wife Avelina and their children, he runs Sítio Pedreiras, a 60-hectare farm where Arabica and Conilon are cultivated with deep family passion and care.
After early attempts in specialty coffee, the family stepped back in 2012—but in 2019, encouraged by the next generation, they gave it another try. They replanted, corrected spacing, and introduced drip irrigation. Sustainability became central, leading to the recovery of four natural springs and the installation of 250 dry boxes to retain water and restore soil health.
The results soon followed. In 2023, the Nandorf family won a National Sustainability Award. A year later, they earned first place in Espírito Santo for their Conilon. Their coffee is processed using natural and washed methods, and dried either in a covered yard or gas-powered dryer.
Today, daughter Luana Nandorf leads communication and sales, proudly sharing the family’s legacy—and the land that sustains it—with the world.
