For four generations, the Köpp family from Pomerania has been living in Itarana, growing coffee. Today, João Henrique continues this tradition together with his wife Carolina and their sons Eduardo and Luiz — right by the waterfall, nestled between bamboo and mountains.
Their plots are located just steps from their home, separated only by a narrow road: Arabica on the left, Canephora on the right. The decision to grow Conilon came from experience — when Arabica began to lose quality, the family looked for alternatives and found it in fermented Canephora, processed on their covered patio.
With support from João’s sister Andreia (SENAR), the Köpp family entered the specialty coffee world in 2022. In 2024, they won 1st place at the Festa do Café in Itarana with their Conilon.
