Germán Carranza is a young Peruvian coffee farmer who has direct relationships with some top speciality roasters in Germany. After being in contact with Germán for some time, we met him in Moyobamba in 2019. It quickly became clear that we were on the same wavelength and would like to work together. Now the time has come. We import various microlots from Germán. And not only the lots for the friends he already has, but even more lots for even more delicious Germán speciality coffee in Europe’s speciality roasteries.
This lot is a natural processed green coffee from the mixed varieties Bourbon, Gesha and Costa Rica from Germán’s finca “El Bebedero” (The Trough) in the village of Gracias a Dios, Lonya Grande, Peru. As the plants of the three varieties are still young, the 2020 harvest was still quite scarce. Therefore, Germán harvested the varieties mixed and then processed them together. His sophisticated methods in cultivation, harvesting and fermentation enable Germán to produce clean naturals despite high humidity.
