We’re excited to introduce a new and rare lot from Lộc Rừng : a farm blend of Coffea liberica and Coffea dewevrei (Excelsa) — two little-known species that together make up less than 1% of global coffee production. These cherries were sourced for the first time this year, after the Loc Rừng team established a new farming partnership two hours away from their production facility. We’re glad to have committed to their entire experimental lot, and the results exceeded all expectations.
This coffee is relatively high-grown for the species, which may be one of the key reasons behind its exceptionally complex cup profile. Adding to the depth of flavor is an extended carbonic maceration of 20 days, during which the cherries undergo a controlled fermentation in a CO₂-rich, oxygen-free environment.
After fermentation, the coffee is dried for approximately 30 days on shaded raised beds, ensuring slow, even drying.
Together with our partners at Loc Rừng, we’re excited to show you just how much potential lies within these Coffea species. We decided to name this coffee for exactly what it is: “Vibrant”!
