In the heart of Espírito Santo, vast, smoothly rounded rock formations shape the landscape – surrounded by rainforest and the coffee farms of secluded immigrant families. At the center of this region lies Venda Nova do Imigrante (“new shop of the immigrants”), home to our partners BMP Farmers – right at the foot of Pedra Azul. This striking rock shifts its color with the light and the weather: at times blue, then grey, green, or golden.
We named our lot after it. Like the stone, Brazilian Canephora is dense, layered, and full of facets. Even in processing, the transitions remain fluid: dry-depulped and lightly rinsed – depending on the vintage, leaning closer to Washed or Pulped Natural. Canephora is notably more compact than Arabica, and that compactness gives it depth, structure, and a character all its own.
Boa degustação!
