Review: Canephorum Frankfurt

On April 29, 2023, the first Canephorum event took place in Frankfurt am Main, marking the launch of a new platform dedicated to Coffea canephora. Together with producers, roasters, importers, scientists, and coffee lovers from all over the world, an intensive day of exchange, tasting, and learning was celebrated.

Cumpa presented a diverse selection of specialty Canephora from Vietnam, produced by long-standing partner companies using innovative processing methods. Lukas accompanied the event with great passion.

Another highlight was the workshop by Indie Coffee Roasters, a roastery and import company focusing on Canephora from southern India. Together with their partner Akata, who was there in person, they presented an impressive selection of directly imported coffees.

Gio Hidalgo, co-organizer and founder of Latitud 0°, presented specialty coffees from the Ecuadorian Amazon region. Working closely with indigenous Kichwa communities, she not only brings exceptional Canephora qualities to Europe, but also invests specifically in training and sustainable farming methods locally.
