News:
- The new harvest season is beginning, and the first batches of coffee are arriving at the cooperative.
- The new EU Organic Regulation poses major challenges for larger smallholders with 4–5 hectares, as they can no longer be certified under the collective certification scheme. Aproeco was able to renew its organic certification (many very small farmers), while CEPRO Yanesha faces significant investments, as many farmers there are on the threshold of the new threshold.
- Canephora is now being fertilized to ensure an optimal harvest toward the end of the year.
- After “El Niño” caused heavy rains in 2024, fears of “La Niña” (which typically brings drought) are now circulating.

- Coffee production around the lake is severely restricted.
- Increased smuggling of green coffee to Rwanda and Uganda.
- Petit Kwilu from Mayombe (western D.R. Congo) won first and third prizes in the “Robusta Washed” category for the first time at the AFCA conference in Addis Ababa in February — a milestone for the D.R. Congo.

El Salvador
News:
- Production is growing despite the challenges of last season (labor shortages, heat, rain, etc.).
- Prices are stable or, in some cases, slightly higher than last year.
- The weather was very good for this year’s harvest. Strong winds early in the year, but no major damage.
- Preparing for EUDR — over 200 farms certified as deforestation-free.
- Difficulties with water pollution and availability are also becoming more noticeable in coffee.
Arrival:
- Shipping is expected in May/June.
Indonesia
News:
- Indonesia’s coffee production is showing a significant rebound. At around 12.5 million bags, the harvest is approximately 18% higher than last year, driven primarily by a recovery in Robusta production. With around 11 million bags, Robusta remains clearly dominant and strengthens Indonesia’s role as a major supplier in the global market, which could slightly ease the tight supply situation.
- At the same time, the weather remains a key risk. Alternating periods of heavy rainfall and drought continue to create uncertainty regarding yields and quality.
Arrival:
- Our first shipment of Indonesian specialty coffee has arrived. Now available!
