This year, we’re inviting you to be part of something truly special. As an essential part of cumpa’s journey and a key figure shaping our path since 2016, our long-standing partner and coffee producer Don Martín from Moyobamba, Peru, will be celebrating his 60th birthday on July 29, 2025 and we have a dream:
We want to bring him to Germany! This would give him the opportunity to meet you—the people behind the roasteries—in person and celebrate his birthday with us. It wouldn’t just be his first trip to Europe, but also the first big birthday celebration of his life.
Who is Don Martín?
Don Martín is not only a master of coffee production but also a man with an incredible life story. As a young refugee in the Peruvian rainforest, he built a life for himself and his family on the mystical Finca La Pirámide and helped lead a cooperative out of crisis. His journey has been filled with challenges, sacrifices, and valuable lessons.
Now, we want to honor this journey – with your support!
How You Can Be Part of This Special Project
We are inviting Don Martín to Germany for two weeks. From July 21 to August 1, 2025, he will travel with us across Germany and Central Europe, visiting roasteries and gaining new insights. The highlight of his trip, which is taking him to Europe for the first time, will be the big birthday celebration at the day of his 60th birthday on July 29, where we will introduce him to our way of celebrating – with good food, great company, and, of course, coffee!
Additionally, you will have a unique opportunity to hear readings from his self-written book, “Rain on the Pyramid,” which tells the story of his extraordinary life.
